Whether it was with crayolas and paper or when she grew up, setting the perfect dinner table, the creative process is something that has always made her HAPPY.

DRAWING was always a hobby growing up, so it was only natural when Monica went to college to major in ART. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from Roanoke College in 1994. This degree not only taught her graphic design skills but strengthened her fine art skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, photography etc. and helped her develop a strong love and eye for COLOR. After she fulfilled her dream of taking a year off to live (and play!) in Vail, Colorado, Monica moved back east to receive her Master of Arts in Publication Design from the University of Baltimore in 1998. While in Graduate school she began working for a large Advertising Agency where she stayed for 2 and a half years. After working here, she went on to work for a small design firm designing for print and the web as well as delving into the BUSINESS side of things. She found both experiences to be invaluable, enabling her to not only CREATE but to observe the inner workings of a very large then very small company.

Finally, after working in the "Real World", Monica decided to combine her love of DESIGN and illustration and venture out on her own. Monica Maslack Stationers officially began in the fall of 2001. Since then she has been creating custom cards for all kinds of people from New York to Mississippi, all the while, creating a line of social stationery, Imprintables and gift wrap which are now being mass produced!
